This is a great tip for Apple Mac users who utlise the microblogging service, Twitter. It is a fairly simple way of creating a client for Twitter which is accessible from the Apple menu bar (as a menu item). The method uses Hahlo that is intended for use with Apple iPhone which makes this ‘hack’ notable for its creative use of software that is freely available.
I have yet to update and test the latest incarnation of WordPress but there are some features that look promising.
Post Revisions allow WordPress users to track changes to posts with ease and restore earlier versions. (Mac users — we’ve got Time Machine for WordPress!)
WordPress 2.5 Release Candidate 2 (RC2) has been released today.
As previously mentioned there is a new gallery feature built into WP 2.5 and Matt has created a screencast which includes an overview of this handy new feature. I’ll be testing the gallery feature out soon here on Blog24.
Matt’s screencast also includes an overview of the Dashboard and the newly designed Post page.
It is good to hear that this upgrade has not caused any reported problems with existing themes. The same cannot be said for plugins but many developers of the quality plugins have been updating their code to make it work with WordPress 2.5.
Initially having an incompatible theme was one of my concerns as this is such a new blog. However, I have not have to alter anything in my theme due to the transition from WP 2.3.3 to 2.5.
