Apple’s special event, Let’s Rock, that was held in San Francisco recently is now available online for all to watch.
Steve Jobs announces the new iPod Nano
The presentation lasts a little over an hour and is worth watching to get details about the new version of iTunes and its new features and how the iPod range has changed.
The speculation is true — Apple CEO, Steve Jobs, has just announced the new iPod Nano. Let’s just say if you’ve seen a mockup or photograph that claimed to be the new iPod Nano then it was genuine.
The 4th Generation Nano has an oval cross-section and a widescreen screen as rumors rumours suggested. The new Nano has a built-in accelerometer to make viewing video, photo and your music collection (via coverflow) much like the iPhone and iPod Touch.

There are a number of rumors rumours about Apple iTunes and the possibility of a redesigned iPod Nano and changes to the rest of the iPod range. Most of these rumours have little supportive evidence and seem to be gathering the usual Apple hype that is usually generated ahead of an ‘Apple Event’.
Having said this the release of iTunes 8 and changes to the iPod range are likely. However, a totally redesigned iPod Nano seems less feasible.
