Here’s an video that I found interesting. It seems to show the Apple iPhone (or iPod Touch if you prefer) Operating System running on a Mac Pro and being used with a touch screen and Apple remote to act as the iPhone’s main button.

You decide if it has actually been done or very cleverly faked.

XO Laptop Redesign

Shown above is not Apple’s soon-to-be-announced ‘brick’ that you may have read about on numerous blogs and Mac news websites recently. The photo above have illustrated speculative blog posts about the imminent launch of a new Apple computer. In fact the photograph depicts the redesign for the One Laptop Per Child XOXO Laptop, by Yves Behar.

The whole ‘Apple Brick’ rumour seems to be one of the most uncertain rumours about Apple products ever. There is much speculation about what it is, when it will be announced — but what evidence is there that Apple are either releasing a new product or a redesigning current hardware? Mac OSX — Stop ’syslogd’ Being A CPU Hog

Activity Monitor iconSince Apple released the first major update for Mac OS 10.5 (10.5.1) some users may have experienced a slowing down of their machines which, at first, looks like it’s caused by ‘syslogd‘.

To see if your Mac is suffering with this strange processor hogging problem open Activity Monitor (found in the Utilities folder in Applications). You might see something like the screenshot below which shows syslogd using a large percentage of the processor power.

Easily Share Screen Grabs Fast

grabUp IconGrabUp is a neat piece of Apple freeware that frequent bloggers may find useful, especially when the next version is released.

GrabUp is actually an Apple OSX preference pane that modifies the standard screen grab keystrokes that are built into the Apple operating system. Rather than saving the resulting images locally on your computer they are saved online using a unique and private URL. Not only that the generated URL is stored ready for use in the clipboard ready to paste wherever required with a simple COMMAND V keystroke.

While this may seem illogical at first to some it all depends why you take screen shots.
