Discounted Software for Apple Mac Users
Since writing about MacHeist I thought it worthy to note that Apple Mac users have other great websites to purchase good value software. These being MacZot and MacUpdate’s sister-site MUPromo.
There is a huge range of Mac shareware software offered by both sites, ranging from games for children to handy utilities. Pretty much something for everyone.
Mac Update is not only a great website to make sure that you have up-to-date apps for your Mac but the sister-site also offers discounted software. These sales only last 24 hours each and are worth keeping an eye on.
I recently purchased Lineform, LightZone and a handy little app called Paperclip via Mac Update Promo and saved over $100 [€60 / £50].
Some of the software offers on MU Promo are extended for a short time. These extended offers are not as heavily discounted but still are worth checking if you have missed a previous 24 hour sale. (These offers are found at the bottom of each MU Promo page.)
My top tip, if you are interested in saving money on quality software for your Apple Mac, is that you subscribe to the RSS feeds at both websites. That way you are less likely miss out on an incredible deal.
MUPromo is the better website out of the two for two reasons. It tends to offer more useful software and if you join you can comment on each software offer. The comments feature is definitely useful as people discuss the pros and cons of the software on offer. Sometimes commenters suggest similar shareware or freeware applications too (always good to have options).
Having said that MacZot is a useful website too and well worth bookmarking or following via RSS.
Finally, MUPromo has occasional bundles in which several applications are offered for $50 or so, much like MacHeist. The bundle offers last longer than 24 hours and the next one starts on April 16th.
