WordPress 2.5 is Available!

After much anticipation and a slight delay WordPress 2.5 is now available.

Not only that but the whole of wordpress.org has been redesigned and compliments the new WordPress release. Every page of Blog24′s WP 2.5 RC1 installation is telling me to upgrade and I will do so within the next 24 hours.

Having used 2.5 for the past week or so I can highly recommend the upgrade to 2.5. It is an upgrade that almost every WordPress user will benefit from I am sure. The cleaner interface, additional features and speed boost ought be enough to keep the WordPress servers busy over the next week or two. The number of 2.5 downloads ought to comfortably go beyond 2,000,000. (WP 2.3.3 didn’t quite make that many downloads.)

No doubt most of the WordPress bloggers will be upgrading their blogs and then blogging about their leap from 2.3.3 to 2.5.

What I have yet to discover is why 2.4 was apparently missed out, any ideas anyone?

Over the next few days I’ll be posting my thoughts about the new WordPress as I continue to build this new blog. There’s a lot of fine-tuning to do and plugins to be tested, especially since the aforementioned upgrade.

Anyway, what are you waiting for download WordPress 2.5 now!
